Some really pathetic people!

Below are the responses that I've had from people regarding my story about my Dodge truck and the spare tire falling off. As time goes on I hope to hear from more of you on this subject. If you would like to add to this page, just email me or make an entry into my guest book. Both of these options are listed below.

I don't like Chrystler vehicles, (or GM or Ford for that matter), because they are crap. By the way, the car companies consider the price of a recall against a threshold of lawsuit cases when people are hurt or die. Believe it or not, there is an "acceptable" number of deaths before a recall happens, and it has nothing to do with how sad they are, and has everything to do with the bottom line. $$$$$$ . 15 deaths and lawsuits might be cheaper than 1.5 million vehicles being recalled.

Ha, good luck fighting giant corporate America, or getting them to give a shit and cost themselves money. I'd take it to the press and see if they give a shit either. If mainstream media isn't interested, I'd try the independent press. Heck, I'd try the independent press first and let them scoop the giant corporate biased media anyway! You're basically out of luck on getting a free repair on a truck that is 9 years old.

wow that is scary. manufacturers should make stuff to last. this could of killed someone. they dont care. as johnny rotten said " dirty old men and their dirty old money".pathetic.

You would think Dodge would do something about it but I guess these major co's. don't care about the average customer driving their cars! Very interesting dude!

HI Johnny, No I have never heard of something like this happening. I think the closest I have come to this was a roll of pressed steal rolled off a flat bed truck and flattened a car near us there in MI.

Hey man, sounds like you got lucky. My version... I was about 1o and my father was taking us boating. he hooked up our old boat to our pickup, strapped my brother and i in to the seat he'd installed in the back, and away we went.... rolling smoothly along when there was suddenly a thump as the drivers side rear tire just came off the truck.. I couldn't see what happened but it was related to me as follows... dad slowed down, the tire passed him by doing aboiut sixty... a projectile no doubt. it entered the oncoming lane of traffic and bounced, now airborn, it headed straight for the front window of an oncoming station wagon. what i saw after we'd stopped was our truck hanging on the trailer, and a smashed windshield and body damage to the station wagon. i can only imagine what that poor driver must have gone through watching this tire come at her... turns out the lug nuts were loose after a recent tire change, and there was (as you point out in your situation) no backup, no safety device to keep a tire on the vehicle if all the lug nuts fall off. I had also lost a tire on the Torino once though it was low speed and the car just fell over and stopped. It would be nice if there was a way to keep this from happening,.. as it's happend to me twice already.

Wow, I read your atory about your car. Anyway, that is really messed up about your car!!!! They better change that shit before someone gets hurt!!!

hey johnny! glad to hear noone was hurt in the tire episode and im also glad to hear your trying to have someone take responsibility. probably nothing will come of it , but at least you tried.

It isn't just Dodge...I have a Chevy and it fell off at some point as well and several people I have talked to have been aware of this happending...in my case the cable broke!!! How many must die or be maimed??

Any comments please email me or make an entry into the guestbook thanks.
